What Aurora needs
Aurora needs three values from your EHR system: the practice URL, a username, and a password. Create a user for Aurora rather than sharing a personal login. A separate user keeps your own account safe, and your EHR audit log then shows exactly which reads belong to Aurora.
- One user for AuroraGive the user a name your staff will recognize in the user list, such as
aurora.reports. - Aurora reads, it never writesAurora runs reports and reads the figures they return. It never creates, edits, or deletes anything in your EHR system. In ModMed the permissions below deliberately leave Clinical Analytics off: Aurora needs your financial data, not your clinical data.
ModMed
You need the practice's FirmAdmin user to do this. Sign in as FirmAdmin and open the separate admin user area.
These steps follow the current ModMed screens. If a name below does not match what you see, your practice is on a different release: ask your ModMed administrator for the equivalent control rather than guessing.

Where to find the NextGen practice URL
Your NextGen practice URL has the form https://yourpractice.nextgen.com. Copy it from your browser address bar while you are signed in to NextGen, and remove everything after the host name.
Enter the credentials in the signup wizard
Go back to step 3 of the signup wizard and enter three things: the practice URL, the username you created (the ModMed Username or the NextGen User ID), and its password. Aurora stores the password encrypted and uses it only to read the data that produces your reports. You can revoke the user in your EHR system at any time. Aurora then stops receiving new data.
Using another EHR system
Aurora supports ModMed and NextGen today, so we cannot create your account for another EHR system yet.
Email us the name of the system you use and we will tell you when Aurora adds it. Your invite code stays valid until then.
